Some weddings you photograph. Others you live inside for a day.
This was the second kind.

Shay and Eizhell arrived with the people who have always known them: family, close friends, the ones who don't need to be told what this moment means because they were already there for all the ones that came before it. Around forty people who filled the space at Amber et Épice not with noise but with something warmer. Presence. The specific warmth of people who genuinely want to be exactly where they are.

If you're planning something intimate in Tulum and want photographs that feel this personal let's talk →

Because some family members can't make the journey, but they find a way to be there anyway:
What I remember most about working with Shay and Eizhell is how easy they made it. Laid back in the best possible way. Open. The kind of couple who trusts you, and in that trust gives you room to actually see. We built images together that day, their vision and mine finding each other somewhere in the light between poses. That doesn't always happen. When it does, you feel it in the photographs.

The ceremony was the kind that makes you forget you're holding a camera. Two women standing still inside everything they've built together, saying out loud what most people only think. The room went crazy!

Then the night opened up.
You could feel it building at the tables, that particular restlessness when a song comes on that everyone knows and the only honest response is to move. The dance floor at a Tulum wedding reception has its own gravity. And when it finally pulled them in, they gave it everything. By the end of the night the pool had claimed them all dressed, laughing, completely spent in the best possible way.

This is what a microwedding can be when it's made with intention and populated with the right people. Not a smaller version of something bigger. Something complete in itself.
A destination wedding in Tulum doesn't need scale to be extraordinary. It needs honesty. It needs presence. It needs the specific courage of two people who decided that this is exactly what they wanted.
If that sounds like your kind of wedding, I'd love to hear about it.
