My story
I’m Sofia, the photographer behind Chérie. For over a decade, I worked in editorial and lifestyle photography, drawn to form, light, and quiet beauty. But the energy in weddings made me change how I see and photograph. The family gatherings, the intensity of shared moments, the way love moves through a room — all of it. Weddings came for me with an emotion I hadn’t encountered before.I photograph them with a documentary heart and an editorial eye, guided by intuition, composition, and movement. Chérie is my new way of honoring what’s real and a little unexpected. Based in the Riviera Maya and Yucatán, I photograph weddings across Mexico and travel for destination celebrations worldwide.
